Today was such a wonderful day because we the seniors learnt about seed dispersal. Seed dispersal is the transport of seeds away from the parent plant. The juniors learnt about the plant kingdom. They learnt about the different uses of plant, example it is used for food, to make furniture and use as medicine. It was such a wonderful day learning about seed dispersal and the plant kingdom.
Today was a great day in STEM. The grade 5 did root words. A root word is a basic word with no prefix or suffix added to it. The grade 4 class did phonemes, a phoneme is the smallest unit of sound. Our STEM teacher miss Sharmala Singh helped us alot today ,we also had miss Bonita with us. Firstly we said our stem pledge which is very helpful especially the two parts with ”I am smart” and “I am confident”. Our classmates did Graphogame after the school work, like doing letter sounds. and making words with letters.
Today was STEM day at the Mainstay lake learning pod and we did Science. Grade 5 learnt about the definition of invertebrates and its types and Grade 4 learnt about the common types of plants in the environment and the children listed their favourite tree. The topics we cover at STEM are being taught in our classroom. STEM is there to help us understand our work better. This afternoon was awesome. We learnt a lot.
Today in technology hour we learnt sounding in scratch coding.

Every pod will soon have their own website like this one where the children will be able to post their images, videos and stories. Our goal is to teach them how to create their own websites by the end of their first year in the program.
